This year's event saw only one Allard racing...Bob Francis in his ex-Mille Miglia J2. Bob started out on the 10th row in 25th position. By the end of the 90 minute Freddie March Memorial Race, Bob and his co-driver worked their way up to 12th place. Congrats!
Click the below to watch a brief recap of the race along a with a graceful spin by Bob.
We love it when Allard owners tell us what they are doing with their cars...the other day we found a letter from Alain Rueede showing us his latest exploits...here's his email...

We ere excited to see that Sydney's old J2X Le Mans, chassis 3055 has returned to Le Mans, some 62 years after it originally raced there. We're glad to see this car back on the road as it has been for sale for a number of years. Glad to see the new owner getting her out & about.
We were excited to learn today that the British Pathe, who has been archiving world history on film since the 1890's...has posted their archives on YouTube. What does that mean for Allard fans? We get to enjoy at least a dozen or so Allard related films that we likely never seen before. Our favorite so far is this clip of the one-off Allard Dolphin. A car built on a L-type chassis that featured one of the earliest retractable hard top roofs. Loyal readers of the Register will recall that we published a story on the Dolphin back in 2009. Enjoy this video as Graham Smith races J2-1578 (placed 3rd at Le Mans in 1950) from 29th to 5th place in Group 5B at the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The drive also earned Graham the Rolex Cup for Group 5B. Special thanks to Steve Schuler for sharing the video!
I've always liked the lines of the PB MkII...looking forward to seeing it finished.
Mike (Son-K2) and Jim (Dad-J2), just posted some videos from their run up Mt. Equinox in Manchester, VT last weekend. For those of you unaware, Mt Equinox is one of the longest hill climb races around at 5.2 miles in length with over 3,100 feet of climbing. More news to come on how they performed, stay tuned...
Here's some cool color video from the infamous 1952 Watkins Glen race. The main event footage starts at the 3:00 mark...oh and you might want to turn the volume down.
